My name is Viktoria Paar, born in Vienna 1983.
The Producer
I have had a varied professional career, beginning as a chemist for 6 years in an environmental analysis laboratory, followed by late studies in "Educational Sciences", "Environmental Education" and "Social & Cultural Anthropology". Inbetween I traveled very often in backpacking style through many different countries in this world - I absorbed other cultures and local habits very loving - I was able to hear thousands of stories and since then I have known how valuable it is to capture them.
Among other things I worked at the University of Vienna at the Vienna Visual Anthropology Lab - supported students to implement ethnographic films.
From 2022-23 I participated in a Co-Design project called we:design. How to design an app with teenagers, and as a filmmaker take the role of working through themes like "application to the labor market" and produced shortfilms with young people in order to gain a qualitative research approach to this topic. A new collaborative film project started 2024, to deal with the topic of National Socialism and the "February 34 battles".

I produce and moderate a PODCAST about mental health hosted on Stationista and was broadcasted at
Ö1 Radiokolleg as well as it has been awarded a journalism prize, the Stephan Rudas Prize 2023.

I am also working in the film production of politically relevant readings and events, also as a documentary and portraits filmmaker.
Politics is important to me - so I participate a civil society- and political project at the local level, as a district delegates of the 20. district of Vienna at Gebietsbetreuung Stadterneuerung.
I filmed for Republikanischen Club Neues Österreich, an association in Vienna that fights anti-semitism, racism and right-wing extremism.
Further I also filmed for AugustinTV , what is broadcasted at OKTO.TV a viennese local tv station.
In 2021 I documented an educational project with MEMORY-Zirkus im Nationalsozialimus, backstage of the circus artists, a city walk performance and an exhibition documentation.
The Anthropologist
2012 I started to study Cultural- and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna, specializing in Visual Anthropology and documentary films. I was mainly concerned with Sensory Ethnography, as well as with ritual, affectivity and atmosphere research.
The Explorer
I always took pictures, made collages and tried to find an abstract gaze in the daily life perception. The collection of my pictures lead me to narratives.
After a while I figured out I want to tell stories with my pictures - and to use my sense of aesthetics and the magic of technology to do that.
The first videos were born.
